The Ursuline College basketball team upset bid of the #21 ranked Michigan Tech University fell short as the Arrows fell 81-67 on Saturday afternoon.
The Start
Michigan Tech started the game on a 13-3 run before the Arrows closed the gap after senior
Laney Lewis hit a jumper and senior
Camryn Hill connected on a three-pointer to make it 13-8.
Ursuline pulled within a bucket at 15-13 inside two minutes remaining in the first quarter when sophomore Ky Crevison buried a three-pointer from the wing in transition.
The Turning Point
After taking a two-point deficit into the locker room at 37-35, Michigan Tech outscored Ursuline 27-14 in the third quarter. The Huskies started the quarter on an 11-0 run to make it 48-35 with just under six minutes to play in the third.
Inside the Numbers
Ursuline shot 37 percent (23-for-63) from the field while Michigan Tech 47 percent (34-for-72). The Arrows were just 2-for-16 from the three-point line while the Huskies were 9-for-25 (36 percent) from deep.
The Arrows were 19-for-23 from the free throw line while the Huskies were 4-for-4.
The Leaders
Lewis led Ursuline with her second-straight double-double after finishing with 26 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four assists. She was 10-for-16 from the floor and 6-for-7 from the free throw line.
Hill also finished with a double-double after scoring 24 points and pulling down 12 rebounds on 7-for-16 from the floor and 9-for-10 from the free throw line.
