The Ursuline College basketball team improved to 3-0 in the G-MAC after a 75-48 rout of Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday night in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Kentucky Wesleyan came out of gates with their offense clicking on all cylinders as they ran out to a 9-0 lead.

The Arrows closed the quarter on a 10-5 run and led 16-14 after one.

In the second quarter, the fun began for the Ursuline offense. Lewis started the quarter with back-to-back field goals to make it 22-18 and junior
Camryn Hill made it 24-18 after a shot in the paint. The run continued when sophomore
Brigan Wymer hit a tough shot in transition and Lewis connected from behind-the-arc to make it 32-21.

Ursuline went on a 15-0 run over the next 4:30 to build a commanding 39-21 lead with 1:49 to play in the half. The Arrows took a 42-25 lead into the break after shooting 60 percent from the floor (17-for-28).

Huber opened the third quarter with a three-pointer from the top of the key to make it 45-25 and the Arrows hot shooting continued in the third. A layup from Koenig made it 49-25 and another layup from Hill extended the lead to 51-28 with 6:23 to play in the third.

The Arrows defense held the Panthers to just nine points in the third quarter while posting another 26-point frame and led 68-34 after three quarters.

Ursuline shot 55 percent (30-for-55) from the field while holding Kentucky Wesleyan to just 25 percent (15-for-61) shooting. The Arrows scored 50 points in the paint and turned 16 Panther turnovers into 21 points. Ursuline won the rebounding battle 42-35 and had a season-high 13 steals.

The Arrows had five finish in double-figures led by 16 first half points from Lewis who went 7-for-9 from the floor and had eight rebounds and dished out seven assists. Wymer finished with 15 points on an efficient 6-for-8 night from the field while Huber had 14 points including 3-for-4 from three. Hill finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds on 6-for-9 from the floor.

The win snapped an 11-game winning streak by Kentucky Wesleyan which was one shy of Ursuline's 12-game streak from a year ago. The Arrows have now won five straight games in which they are averaging 80 points per game while allowing just 60 on the defensive end.

Ursuline will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to take on Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM EST. The Trojans fell to Malone 62-43 on Thursday night.
