The Ursuline College volleyball team swept a pair of matches on the final day of the IUP Crimson Hawk Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Arrows (3-1) began the day with a straight set victory over Holy Family and concluded the day with their second straight 3-0 win against West Liberty.
Ursuline and Holy Family played a close first set before the Arrows prevailed 25-21 and then Ursuline was able to win the second set 25-14 and close out the match with a 25-18 win in the third.
Freshman
Victoria Henderson led Ursuline with 11 kills while seniors
Makayla Windau had eight and
Emily Adkinson added seven.
Senior
Sammi Marcum had five service aces to lead Ursuline while Adkinson had a season high eight blocks. Windau led Ursuline with 17 digs and sophomore
Katelyn Selleny had 23 assists.
In the closing game of the tournament, the Arrows pulled out a 25-23 win in the first set before winning the second set 25-20 and completed the sweep with a 25-18 win in the third.
Adkinson led the Arrows with 15 kills and added five more blocks while Windau finished with 12 kills and 15 digs.
Sophomore
Kassidy Stilwell had a match-high 20 digs.
Ursuline will travel to Owensboro, Kentucky next weekend to take part in the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. On Friday the Arrows will play Brescia University (KY.) at 9:00am followed by Bluefield State at 3:00pm.
