The Ursuline College lacrosse team earned its first-ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference victory with a 13-11 road win over Alderson Broaddus on Thursday evening.

The two teams traded goals in the opening moments and the Battlers tied the game 2-2 at the 24:46 mark before the Arrows went on a 4-0 run. Sophomore

Hayley Mazreku all scored goals for Ursuline to make it 6-2.

Abigail Neeley and Mazreku added goals five minutes later to make it 8-3 and took a 9-5 lead into the half.

In the second half, Alderson Broaddus put together a run of their own and tied the game 9-9 just 10 minutes into the second half.

Kipp broke the tie briefly before the Battlers tied the game 10-10 with 14:52 to play. Mazreku put the Arrows in front for good with a goal at the 14:16 mark and Neeley extended the lead to 12-10 with 13:09 to play. Bartlett added another goal for the Arrows to make it 13-10.

Mazreku, who leads the G-MAC in goals scored, led the Arrows with four goals and Kipp added three while Neeley and Bartlett added two.Â

Sarah Bowerman made 15 saves in her first start in net for Ursuline.

Ursuline will travel to Elkins, West Virginia on Friday afternoon to take on the Senators at 3:00 PM.Â
