The Ursuline College basketball team improved to 22-3 overall on the season with a 79-63 win at Davis & Elkins College on Thursday evening. Ursuline is now a G-MAC best 11-2 with one game remaining on Saturday.
The Arrows and Senators traded baskets in the early going before junior
Erica Huber hit a three-pointer to put Ursuline in front 10-4 with just under six minutes to play in the first quarter. Freshman
Brigan Wymer extended the lead to nine at 17-8 with a three-pointer with just under two minutes left.
Huber hit her second three of the quarter, which also put her over the 1,000 point mark in her career and gave the Arrows a 20-13 advantage after one. Huber becomes the fifth Arrow in school-history to go over the 1,000 point plateau.

Natalie Koenig picked up back-to-back baskets to extend the lead to double-digits at 24-13 early in the quarter. Ursuline built the lead to 30-17 before Davis & Elkins ended the half on a 16-6 run to close the gap to 36-33 before the break.
The Senators got a layup early in the third quarter to cut the deficit to one at 36-35 but Huber came right back with a basket of her own to push the lead back to three. Wymer added a jumper later in the quarter to make it 46-37 with 3:23 to play in the third. Koenig and Huber followed with back-to-back three pointers to make it 52-37 with 2:00 left the third.
Ursuline built a 58-41 lead after three and outscored Davis & Elkins 22-8 in the third.
The Arrows shot 41 percent (31-for-75) from the field and went 8-for-26 (31 percent) from behind-the-arc while the Senators shot 45 percent (25-for-56) and were 6-for-20 from three. The Senators won the rebounding battle 45-31 but the Arrows forced 27 turnovers while committing 10 of their own.
Huber led Ursuline with 18 points on 6-for-14 from the field and 3-for-7 from three. She also had three steals and two assists in 34 minutes. Sophomore
Camryn Hill finished with 14 points while Lewis and Koenig added 13 each. Wymer chipped in 12 points and had two assists.
Ursuline travels to Alderson Broaddus on Saturday for the final game of the regular season. With a win, the Arrows would finish atop the G-MAC and earn the right to host the post-season tournament March 3-5. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM.
