The Ursuline College basketball team returned to the mainland with a convincing 84-60 win over visiting Tiffin University on Thursday evening.

The Arrows started the game on a 7-0 run led by baskets from senior
Erica Huber and sophomore
Brigan Wymer. The run was capped off on a three-pointer from sophomore
Natalie Koenig.

Ursuline extended the lead to 11-5 on a layup from freshman
Madison Morgan with 3:14 to play in the opening quarter. The Dragons closed the gap at the end of the first quarter but Ursuline still led 15-11 after one.

The Dragons pulled to within a point at 17-16 with 8:00 to play in the first half before the Arrows went on a run. Redshirt junior
Laney Lewis started the spurt with a jumper and Wymer buried another triple as the Arrows extended to a 26-19 lead. Wymer connected again from deep and freshman
Julia Cardwell hit a triple of her own off the bench to push the lead to double digits at 32-20 with 5:22 to play in the half.

Ursuline outscored Tiffin 26-13 in the second quarter to build a 41-24 halftime lead.

The Arrows offensive efficiency continued in the third quarter as they again outscored the Dragons 24-11 to take the lead to 65-35 at the end of three.

Ursuline's defense held Tiffin to just 22-for-66 from the floor (33 percent) and 6-for-26 from behind the three-point line. The Arrows shot an impressive 51 percent (31-for-61) from the field and were 14-for-23 from three. Ursuline also went 8-for-10 from the free throw line and edged Tiffin in the rebounding battle 36-32.
The Arrows had 23 assists on their 31 made field goals which was a season-high.Â

Lewis led four Arrows in double figures with 18 points and eight rebounds on 7-for-9 from the floor including 3-for-3 from behind the arc in only 26 minutes of play. Wymer finished with 13 points and was 5-for-7 from the floor and hit 3-for-4 from three. Junior
Camryn Hill finished with 12 points and six rebounds and senior
Erica Huber added 10 points. Cardwell finished with nine point and a career-high seven rebounds.

The Arrows will close out 2016 with a match-up against crosstown rival Notre Dame College on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM.Â
