The Ursuline College basketball team earned its first home win of the season with a 65-54 victory over Saint Joseph's College on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams traded baskets early in the first quarter after senior
Erica Huber tied the game 7-7 with a three-pointer. Sophomore
Brigan Wymer gave the Arrows the lead with a layup in transition at 9-7 at the 4:36 mark of the first quarter.

The Pumas went on an 8-4 run to close the quarter with an 18-13 advantage.

The lead was built to eight to start the second quarter but the Arrows answered back with a 7-0 run of their own sparked by a layup from junior
Camryn Hill and a three-pointer from sophomore
Natalie Koenig to cut the deficit to one at 21-20. Wymer connected a jumper at the 5:04 mark of the second quarter to give Ursuline the lead back at 26-25.

Ursuline took a 33-29 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Arrows effort on both ends of the floor picked up in the third quarter. Wymer started the quarter with a layup in transition and another layup from Hill made it a double-digit lead at 39-29.

Saint Joe's made another run to cut the deficit to 41-37 with 5:00 to play in the third. Ursuline held the Pumas to just 10 points in the third quarter.

Ursuline was led by Koenig who posted a season-high 21 points on 6-for-14 shooting from the floor. She was also 5-for-8 from behind-the-arc and dished out five assists and had three steals. Huber finished with 14 points including 3-for-5 from three while Wymer added 13 points on 6-for-10 from the floor.

The Arrows shot 41 percent (23-for-56) from the field and went 9-for-21 from three while the Pumas shot 39 percent (22-for-57) and were just 3-for-11 from the three. Ursuline also forced 17 turnovers and went 10-for-13 from the charity stripe.

Ursuline will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii for its next two games starting next Saturday against BYU-Hawaii and on Sunday against Hawaii Pacific.Â
