The Ursuline College volleyball team eliminated the defending G-MAC Tournament Champion Trevecca Nazarene in the opening round of the conference tournament on Thursday evening in Mason, Ohio.

The Arrows erased an early deficit and tied the match 5-5 in the opening set. After the two teams traded points through the rest of the set, Ursuline took a 19-17 lead. Trevecca rallied to score five of the next six points to make a 22-20 lead, however, the Arrows battled back to regain the lead at 23-22.

Ursuline finished the first set with a 26-24 win.

The second set was almost identical to the first with both teams trading points in the early going. The Arrows built trailed 15-10 and 16-11 before pulling back to within in a pair at 23-21 late in the set. The Trojans held on to even the match 1-1 with a 25-13 win.

Ursuline responded with a dominant third and fourth set. The Arrows started the third set with a 12-4 run and saw the lead build to as many as 10 at 15-5. Ursuline took the set and the lead in the match 25-16.

The Arrows continued their control of the match in the fourth set as they went onto win 25-18 and take the match in four sets.

Makayla Windau had a season high 20 kills while fellow senior
Emily Adkinson and freshman
Victoria Henderson finished with 14 kills each. Freshman

Angela Zamora had five. Sophomore
Katelyn Selleny had 55 assists and sophomore
Kassidy Stilwell finished with 24 digs.

Ursuline will play Davis & Elkins on Friday evening in Mason, Ohio at 5:00 in the semi-finals. The winner will take on the winner of Cedarville and Malone for the G-MAC Championship on Saturday afternoon. The winner of the G-MAC tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional.
