The Ursuline College volleyball team earned its second straight G-MAC victory with a five set thriller on the road at Malone University on Tuesday night.
The Arrows held a 24-20 lead in the first set but Malone rallied to win the first set 28-26. Ursuline answered back quickly in the second set by building a 10-2 lead before a Malone timeout. The Arrows continued to build the lead to 20-11 and took the second set 25-14.
As Malone has done most of the season, they rallied in the third set to win 25-21 but the Arrows once again showed resiliency in the fourth set by winning by the same score to force a fifth and final set.
Ursuline quickly jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the fifth and deciding set and held off a late rally by Malone to win 15-12 to take the match.
The Arrows were led by senior
Makayla Windau who finished with a match-high 14 kills while fellow senior
Emily Adkinson added 11 as did freshmen Vicotria Henderson. Sophomore
Kassidy Stilwell had 30 digs to lead the Arrows while sophomore
Katelyn Selleny had 48 assists.
Ursuline will start a road trip with two big conference matches on Friday at Ohio Valley and at Cedarville on Saturday.
