The Ursuline College basketball team improved to 1-1 in the G-MAC with a 101-80 victory over visiting Trevecca Nazarene University on Monday night in the Seidman Gymnasium.

The Arrows and Trojans traded baskets early and often in the first quarter before a three-pointer by sophomore Camryn Hill (Strongsville/Strongsville) and a lay-up by redshirt sophomore Laney Lewis (Lynchburg/Lynchburg Clay) gave Ursuline a 10-7 lead at the 5:00 mark.

With the game tied 14-14 late in the quarter, senior Raven Symone-Nelson came in off the bench and provided a spark for the second straight contest. She buried back-to-back triples to put the Arrows in front 20-19 after one.

The second quarter was just as closely contested as the first with both teams hitting on all cylinders on the offensive end. A jumper by sophomore Camille Gist (Toledo/Toledo Christian) made it 39-34 with 2:05 remaining before halftime. Junior Erica Huber (Anna/Anna) connected from behind-the-arc to make it 44-38 with 1:29 to play in the first half.

Ursuline held a 46-41 advantage at the break.

The Arrows reversed their struggles from Saturday's five-point third quarter by posting a season-high 31-point frame in the third. Leading 55-52 with 6:24 to play, Hill hit another three-pointer and Huber finished the run with a lay-up to make it an eight point advantage at 60-52.

Trevecca's offense continued to answer each Ursuline run until the 2:58 mark of the third quarter when Nelson hit a three-point to make it 73-59. Nelson finished the quarter with a lay-up to put the Arrows in front 77-64 headed to the fourth.

Ursuline built their lead to 19 early in the fourth quarter after a three-point hit from freshman Christiana Jefferson (Toledo/Toledo Notre Dame) as the Arrows outscored the Trojans 24-16 in the final frame.

The Arrows shot 53 percent (36-for-68) from the field and were 33 percent (12-for-36) from behind-the-arc. The Trojans shot 47 percent (31-for-66) from the field and were also 33 percent (9-for-27) from three.

Ursuline was led by four players in double figures for the seventh time this season. Hill finished with her seventh double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Wymer had 19 points and dished out four assists and notched four steals while Huber added 16 points and seven assists to go along with four steals. Nelson finished with 11 points and two steals.

The Arrows matched a season-high with 23 assists on 36 made baskets for the second time this season. Ursuline is now 8-1 in their home gym and have scored over 100 points three times.

Trevecca was led by Sarah Raby who finished with a game-high 25 points and Paige Baugher who had 23.

Ursuline travels to Salem International University on Thursday evening to take on the Tigers. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM and the game can be heard live on the UC Sports Network.Â
