Arrows Break Multiple Records in 128-57 Win Over Bluefield St.

The Ursuline College basketball team scored a school and G-MAC record 128 points and broke their own record of 21 made three-pointers in a 128-57 win over visiting Bluefield State on Saturday.

The Arrows used an 18-0 run in the first quarter to build a 32-3 lead over the Blues and did not look back. Ursuline went onto score a season-high 41 points in the opening quarter.

Ursuline built a 61-29 advantage at the end of the first half and were 8-for-20 from behind the three-point line and shot 52 percent (25-for-49) from the floor. Bluefield State was 11-for-24 in the first half but were plagued by 19 turnovers.
The Arrows three-point shooting did not cool off in the second half as they put up 34 points in the third quarter and 33 points in the fourth and connected 65 percent (13-for-20) from beyond-the-arc.

Ursuline broke the record for most three-pointers made in game that was previously held by Alderson Broaddus who made 17 last February.

The Arrows were led by freshman Brigan Wymer (Delta/Delta) who finished with a career-high 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting including 7-for-12 from three. Wymer added four assists to go along with four steals and five rebounds. Senior Raven-Symone Nelson added a career best 28 points on 10-for-18 from the floor and hit 8-for-12 from beyond-the-arc.

Freshman Natalie Koenig (Waueson/Waueson) had 19 points and six assists while sophomore Camryn Hill (Strongsville/Strongsville) added 16 points in just 11 minutes of action. Freshman Christiana Jefferson (Toledo/Toledo Notre Dame) had 13 points and a career-best 12 assists. Sophomore Camille Gist (Toledo/Toledo Christian) had eight points and added eight rebounds. Junior Erica Huber (Anna/Anna) added eight assists and three steals in just nine minutes of play.

Ursuline was 55 percent (44-for-88) from the floor and 53 percent (21-for-40) from the field. The Arrows had a season-best 36 assists on 48 made field goals and won the rebounding battle 45-25 while forcing 38 turnovers.

Nelson's eight made three's and Wymer's seven were the two most by an individual in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference this season. The 36 assists were also the most by a team in the G-MAC this seaosn and the 71 point winning margin was the largest in school history. 

The Arrows will return to G-MAC play on Thursday when they host Alderson Broaddus at 5:30 PM. The game can be seen live on the UC Sports Network.
