Box Score The Ursuline College soccer team saw their winning streak improve to six in a row in the G-MAC with a 2-0 win over visiting Trevecca Nazarene in a re-match of last year's conference tournament championship match. The win improves the Arrows to 7-1 on the season and 6-0 in the G-MAC.
The Arrows and Trojans battled each other back and forth for the first part of the match before Ursuline senior Vanessa Consiglio connected with freshman Aline Czaplicki on a corner kick that Czaplicki put in the back of the net to give the Arrows a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute.
The lead would hold until the 83rd minute when Consiglio found freshman Andie Widmer for her third goal of the season and put the Arrows in front 2-0.
In a match that was played very close, both teams attempted 11 shots on the afternoon. Arrows junior goalkeeper junior Helen Jazzar picked up her third consecutive shutout and fifth overall while grabbing five saves. Her counterpart in goal for the Trojans Liz Denton notched seven saves in the loss.
Ursuline will face another tough test on their home pitch on Thursday, October 1 when they host Cedarville. The match will kick-off at 4:00pm and live stats and audio will be provided.
