Box Score The Ursuline Arrows soccer team passed an early season test over a hot Davis & Elkins team with a 4-1 victory on a sunny Thursday afternoon in Pepper Pike. The Arrows improve to 4-1 overall on the season with the win and 3-0 in the G-MAC.
Junior Cassie Cripe used a perfect pass from freshman Aline Czaplicki to find the back of the net just before the 8:00 minute mark in the first half. Only minutes later senior Vanessa Consiglio found Cripe on a cross to give the Arrows a 2-0 lead just 12 minutes into the game.
The duo of Czaplicki and Cripe were not finished in the first half. Czaplicki found Cripe again in the 38th minute to complete the hat trick for Cripe in the first half. The three goal performance gives Cripe five on the season which is second behind Consiglio.
The last hat trick for the Arrows came on October 4, 2014 against Ohio Valley by Paige Rowan.
In the second half, Consiglio connected with freshman Samantha Sube who notched her first collegiate goal in the 40th minute and the Arrows had a commanding 4-0 lead.
Davis and Elkins, who last week defeated Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene struggled to get any good looks against a staunch Ursuline defense. The Senators goal came in the 68th minute when Jordyn Kemp found Sara Bekenstein to make it a 4-1 deficit.
Ursuline junior goalkeeper Helen Jazzar picked up three saves while back-up goalie Samantha Wehri had four saves in the second half for D&E.
Ursuline will remain home on Saturday afternoon when Alderson Broaddus travels to Pepper Pike. The match will begin at 1:00pm and can be heard live on the UC Sports Network.
