CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Ursuline College soccer team was shutout for the second straight match and dropped its third consecutive contest in a 2-0 loss at Cedarville University on Saturday (Oct. 6).
With the loss, the Arrows record is now 4-4 overall and the club is 0-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Cedarville jumped to 4-7-1 and 1-1 in the G-MAC after suffering a 2-0 setback against Trevecca Nazarene University on Sep. 22.
The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the 29th minute when Morgan Ziegler took a pass from the left corner and scored from 12 yards out. Ziegler’s younger sister, Jacoby, provided Cedarville with some breathing room when she scored in the 53rd minute on a header.
Ursuline attempted six shots throughout the match, four of which were on goal and turned away by Cedarville goalkeeper Alysia Bennett. Junior Amanda Levaskevich and sophomore Paige Rowan each took two shots while seniors Heather Beachy and Hillary Crookston each took one.
UC senior goalkeeper Rachael Smith made four saves of her own while Cedarville blasted a total of 14 shots.
The Arrows have a quick turnaround with a home match tomorrow (Oct. 7) against the
University of Charleston. Max Radigan of the Ursuline College Sports Network will provide free live audio, available
