Lane Brunkala

Ursuline College Director of Athletics Cindy McKnight announced the hiring of Lane Brunkala as the new head coach of the lacrosse program.

She will become the fourth head coach in program history as she replaces Lauren Simko who left this summer to take over the program at Ashland University.

Brunkala, a graduate of Walsh University, is no stranger to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. She played lacrosse for the Cavaliers and was a four-year starter while earning All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2018. She is third all-time in goals per season in Cavalier history and fourth all-time in career-points.

After graduating from Walsh, she moved onto Tiffin University as a Graduate Assistant where she earned her Master of Business Administration Degree in Sport Management. During her time at Tiffin, the Dragons won the 2019 G-MAC Regular Season Championship with a 7-0 record and had the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year. Tiffin had four players selected to the G-MAC First Team and three to the Second Team All-Conference.

Most recently, she served as an Assistant Coach at NCAA Division II University of Mount Olive last season. The Trojans were ranked third last season in the South Region and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. They finished the season 13-2 and were 8-0 overall in the Conference Carolinas.

Brunkala has also worked as an intern for Major Force Lacrosse since 2018 where she has assisted in logistics for several camps held all over the United States.
