Wheeler joins the Arrows after spending seven years at the University of Pikeville, three of which she served as the Associate Head Coach.
While at UPIKE, Wheeler helped the team to three 20-win seasons and four appearances to the NAIA National Tournament. She has coached and developed five NAIA All-Americans, 13 MSC All-Conference athletes and two MSC Freshman of the Year players.

Shelby received MSC Assistant Coach of the Year and Coaching for Significance award during her time at UPIKE. She was also a member of the WBCA Coaches Committee and served as the athletic department's SAAC and FCA advisor.
Prior to her time at UPIKE, Wheeler served as the Director of Women's Basketball Operations at Stetson University in 2015-16. While there, she organized team travel and managed video coordination for practices and games.
Shelby's competed collegiately for two seasons at Florida Southern College where her team won the 2012 Sunshine State Conference Regular-Season title and participated in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
