2012-13 Individual Results

2012-13: Bowled 46 games over nine events…second on the team with a 184.41 average…started her collegiate career by placing fifth in a field of 93 at the American Heartland I Tournament (Sep. 29) where she had a 200.29 average…cracked the top-25 in the next five events…placed 17th of 69 participants at the Kutztown Invitational (Oct. 20-21) with a 191.40 average…20th of 98 student-athletes with a 173.80 at the American Heartland II Tournament (Nov. 3)…the next day, she averaged a 199.75 to come in seventh out of 97 bowlers…at the Wright State Raider Classic (Nov. 10-11), she had a 193.80 average and came in 16th place (out of 176)…placed 11th of 43 participants at the Red Flash Invitational (Nov.30-Dec. 2) with a 183.80…named a National College Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) Academic All-American.

Hubbard High School: Was a four-year varsity letterwinner in bowling under the watch of coach Carol Kozbial...helped lead the team to a third place finish at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) state tournament as a sophomore as well as consecutive OHSAA state runner-up titles in each of her final two seasons...member of numerous all-tourament teams throughout her high school career...placed second at the Ohio 11th/12th grade singles tournament in both her junior and senior year...placed third at the OHSAA state finals as a senior...named Northeast District Ebonite 'Bowler of the Year' in 2012...named to the Dexter All-American Team in 2012...awarded high average of 213 and 'Most Imporved Bowler' her senior year...selected as a first team all-conference selection after each of her final two seasons..holds a high game of 279 and a high set of 769...placed in the top 30% at both the 2011 and 2012 National Junior Gold tournaments...placed toward the top at several JTBA tournaments...boasts a first place finish at The F.L.Y. tourmanet...earned All-Ohio Academic Award during her junior and senior seasons...named Vindicator 'Bowler of the Year' in 2012 and WVTV 'Student-Athlete of the Week' in February of 2012...also a member of the volleyball and softball teams in high school.

Personal: Born November 21, 1993 in Hubbard, Ohio…daughter of Ursuline's head bowling coach Jim and Alison Wess...has an older brother, Andrew...intends to major in business/accounting…graduated eighth in her high school class and was a member of the National Honor Society...served as president of Future Teachers of America.
