Pepper Pike, OH--The Arrows men's golf program is set to tee off for the first time in program history when it competes at the Gatorade Intercollegiate Classic, hosted by Wooster.
The tournament will be held at Zoar Golf Club in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
"I am very excited to finally get on the golf course with this program," said Head Coach Andy Deehr. "The players are eager as well."
The Arrows' inaugural lineup will feature Shane Bates, Ian Garcia, Ian Gardner, Trenton Shrock, and Preston Troiano.
"Picking the lineup for this tournament was one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make in my coaching career so far because we have so many quality individuals," Deehr said.
The Arrows enter their inaugural season with a roster featuring several golfers who have enjoyed impressive high school careers and strong recent performances.
Bates enjoyed a standout summer, winning both the Good Park Junior and the Tanglewood Collegiate. He also earned a sixth-place finish at the 2025 OHSAA Division I State Tournament.
Garcia finished runner-up at the Florida Sectional Tournament in both 2024 and 2025.
Gardner helped lead his high school team to a third-place finish at the 2025 OHSAA Division I Boys Sectional Tournament and added a third-place individual finish at the Tanglewood Collegiate.
Shrock also posted a strong finish at the Tanglewood Collegiate, placing runner-up. A transfer from Kent State Tuscarawas, Shrock finished 10th at the 2024 OHSAA Boys Sectional Tournament.
Troiano was a medalist at Sectional Qualifying for the state tournament and played a key role in helping his high school team capture both the 2024 WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League) and PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) championships.
As the Arrows prepare to take the course for the first time, Deehr said the team's focus extends beyond its inaugural tournament.
"This year, we are looking to be competitive and have some high finishes in our tournaments," Deehr said. "Going forward, this year's team is going to lay a great foundation for the future of the men's golf program."
