Pepper Pike--Ursuline College Athletics celebrated a strong showing in the inaugural Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Sportsmanship Awards, with basketball, lacrosse, and tennis each earning recognition for their commitment to sportsmanship throughout the 2025-26 academic year.

The honors recognize programs that demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship throughout the season, including integrity, respect, and excellence in competition. The awards were presented as part of the G-MAC's new Sportsmanship Award initiative, which was adopted by the conference in May 2025.

Under the new initiative, head coaches rank the sportsmanship of each institution competing in their respective sport. The institutions are then ranked based on the coaches' votes, with the top programs receiving the conference's Sportsmanship Award.

Ursuline's recognition in basketball, lacrosse, and tennis highlights the commitment of its student-athletes and coaching staff to represent the Arrows with grace and fairness throughout the academic year.

The Sportsmanship Awards add another layer of recognition to Ursuline Athletics' 2025-26 season, highlighting the importance of how Arrows student athletes compete.

The awards reflect Ursuline Athletics' continued commitment to developing student-athletes who compete with integrity while representing the college and the Arrows community with pride.

"I'm thrilled to see this group of young women be recognized, said Head Lacrosse Coach Iris Rayburn."

She added, "They have overcome adversity and faced many hurdles but still treat their teammates, opponents, and the game with respect. They deserve this award."

 Head Tennis Coach Kelly Russell stated that "I have seen my team show kindness and compassion in all interactions."

Russel continues, "The way they approach their roles as student-athletes with caring and a positive attitude makes them well-deserving of this recognition."

"We are incredibly proud of our basketball, lacrosse, and tennis programs for earning the Great Midwest Sportsmanship Awards," said Athletic Director Cindy McKnight. "These awards are a reflection of the character our student-athletes and coaches demonstrate every day."
