Willoughby Hills, OH--The Ursuline College women's golf team claimed first place at the John Carroll Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, led by individual champion Zaria Hampton.
The Arrows finished with a two-round team score of +99 to take first place among nine teams, edging second-place John Carroll by one stroke.
The team title came down to the final hole, with Ursuline and John Carroll tied heading into the closing hole. John Carroll's Julia Gulla putted first for a birdie but narrowly missed the attempt. With the pressure on Hampton, she needed a birdie of her own to secure the team title for the Arrows.
Hampton delivered, sinking her putt and securing a three on the par-four final hole to give Ursuline the one-stroke victory.
With the victory, the Arrows have now earned a team medal twice, marking the first time in program history the team has accomplished the feat.
Hampton also captured the individual title, finishing atop the 48-golfer field with a two-round score of 159.
Richtier Hanslkie followed with a score of 164 (+20), tying for fourth place, while Elina Beyer rounded out the Arrows' top 10 with a +25 score.
Alayna Smith and Meghan Zann finished 30th and 31st, respectively, with scores of 188 and 189.
Up Next: The Arrows return to action next Sunday at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie, Pa.
