Bobcats Narrowly Slip Past Arrows in Fourth Quarter

FIRST HALF
  • In a rainy Monday night game, the Arrows were evenly matched against the Bobcats. WVWU put the first two goals in before Marygrace Hendershot set Megan Yanke up for the Arrows first goal, man up.
  • The Bobcats and Arrows traded another set of goals, UC's coming from Kimoree Colbert.
  • WVWU scored three more in the first before Ainsley Guthrie scored her first of the season off a pass from Colbert.
  • Ursuline fought back in the second quarter, scoring two goals in the first 3 minutes of play. Hendershot scored on a free position attempt while Grace Darone added in another just minutes later.
  • After a goal from Emma Aguilar and two from Hendershot, the Arrows were tied 8-8. Two quick goals by WVWU had UC trailing by two points before the break.
 
SECOND HALF
  • Hendershot scored the first two points of the second half for the Arrows, both free position shots, one man up and one man down while WVWU added in two more goals.
  • Grace Darone scored the next two for UC to tie the game up once again at 12-12.
  • West Virginia Wesleyan went on to outscore Ursuline four goals to one in the final four minutes of the third quarter. The Arrows goal came from Hendershot again.
  • With the momentum moving in the opposite direction, the Bobcats went on a six goal scoring streak in the fourth quarter to lock in the win.
  • UC put in just one goal in the fourth from Darone.
