Arrows Celebrate Seniors at Home Loss to Panthers

FIRST QUARTER
  • The Panthers opened up the game with the lead, the Arrows trailing by 7 points at the 5:24 mark.
  • UC went on a hot streak led by Ajia Schreffler and Leah Mencer's assists.
  • The Arrows took the lead 14-13 with 16 seconds on the clock before the Panthers put in one last shot in the final second to take the lead back 14-16.
  • Ursuline had 14 points in the paint compared to KWC's 6.
 
SECOND QUARTER
  • Kentucky Wesleyan took a quick 16-21 lead to start the second before the Arrows hopped back into action.
  • A three pointer by Frazee at the 4:30 mark once again tied the game for UC at 25-25.
  • Stottsberry followed with another three to take the 28-27 lead before KWC answered with a six point run.
  • The Arrows trailed just 31-33 at the break.

THIRD QUARTER
  • With momentum from the first half, the Arrows battled with KWC – trading leads three times in the first six minutes of play.
  • Two back to back six point runs from the Panthers put them up by 11 points with 1:17 on the clock.
  • The Arrows added four more points in before the end of the quarter to trail 41-49.
  • UC dropped off in shooting in the third at just 25% from the field compared to KWC's 50%.
 
FOURTH QUARTER
  • The Arrows continued to push, coming within two points at the 6:02 mark off a set of free throws put back by Michaela.
  • Despite the Arrows strong defense, the Panthers persistent offense continued to put back shots to keep their lead.
  • Two layups from both Madison and Michaela set the Arrows up to be within just two points from the Panthers at the 9 second mark.
  • With one free throw made, UC trailed by a three pointer. The team missed the opportunity to knock in the shot, falling 59-62.
 
STATS, NOTES & NUMBERS
  • FG PERCENTAGE: Arrows 41% (25-61), Panthers 43.4% (23-53).
  • 3-PT PERCENTAGE: Arrows 25% (4-16), Panthers 22.2% (4-18).
  • FREE THROW PERCENTAGE: Arrows 83.3% (5-6), Panthers 66.7% (12-18)
  • REBOUNDS: Arrows 39 (12 offensive), Panthers 29 (8 offensive).
  • ASSISTS/TURNOVERS: Arrows 7/19, Panthers 16/13.
  • Madison Cloonan led the Arrows with 14 points and 8 rebounds  while Riley Stopp followed up with 12 points.
  • Both Michaela Cloonan and Ajia Schreffler put in 10 points for the Arrows.
  • Alexis Frazee had 8 points and five assists.
