The Ursuline College volleyball team will start their 2023 season with a new Assistant Coach on the sidelines this year. Rachel Tolbert joined the program in the spring of 2023 and is looking forward to her first season with the Arrows.
Rachel started her coaching career at Olmsted Falls High School from 2015-2022 coaching Freshman and Junior Varsity, while assisting with the Varsity program all eight years. At the club level, she has coached at Cleveland Volleyball Company since 2015, and currently coaches the 16 National team.Â
Rachel competed at Wheeling University, NCAA DII, as a middle from 2011-2014. She led her team to two WVIAC Conference Championships and two MEC Conference Championships. In 2011, Wheeling won their first Atlantic Regional Championship in school history sending us to the NCAA National Championship. After 2011, her team went on to win three more Atlantic Regional Championships from 2012-2014. We finished in the Elite 8 in 2011, 2012, and 2014 with one finish in the Final 4 in 2013. Â
Head Coach, Haley Paonessa says "We are excited to have Rachel join our coaching staff. She brings a lot of experience at the DII level and will help dissect both the hitting and blocking components for our team. I am looking forward to seeing the impact her energy and positivity has on our student-athletes!"Â
