Basketball Celebrates Three Seniors Against Hillsdale

Highlights: The Arrows celebrated their three seniors; Alyssa Evans, Patience Ashaolu and Nika Humeniuk prior to the game.
 
FIRST QUARTER
  • Both teams showed up to play from the start with the first quarter holding six lead changes and three ties.
  • Alyssa Evans had eight points for the Arrows while Michaela had seven.
  • A brief scoring run by the Chargers put them ahead of the Arrows 18-16 at the end of the first.
  • UC went 5-15 from the field compared to HC's 7-16.
SECOND QUARTER
  • The Arrows picked up defensively in the second quarter, allowing just three field goals from the Chargers.
  • Ursuline took the lead at the 7:32 mark and held onto it the rest of the half.
  • UC had nine assists and four turnovers in the first quarter compared to HC's three and five.
  • Ursuline outscored Hillsdale 14-7 to lead 30-25 at the break.
THIRD QUARTER
  • The Arrows held control of the game for a majority of the third quarter until the Chargers tied it up at the 4:03 mark to make the score 40-40.
  • Ursuline had four fast break points, but shot just 30% from the field compared to Hillsdale's 53%
  • The Arrows were unable to land a shot in the last 2:35 of the game, allowing the Chargers to get the 46-43 edge going into the fourth quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
  • The Chargers ran with the game until they reached their largest lead of 12 points half way throught the quarter.
  • A three point shot by Lexi Petit lit a spark for the Arrows as they fought back within just four points.
  • In the final 2:20 of play, Ursuline was unable to close the gap as the Chargers kept pushing forward.
  • HC outscored UC 20-12, causing a 55-66 loss for the Arrows.

  • Michaela Cloonan had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Madison Cloonan added in 12 points, 5 assists and 8 rebounds for the Arrows.
  • Alyssa Evans posted up 11 points and Riley Stopp had 8.
