Arrows First Loss in Overtime to Oilers

SCORE: Arrows 78 – Oilers 82

FIRST QUARTER
  • The Arrows and Oilers pressed each other from the start of game, with four total lead changes and six ties in the first quarter alone.
  • UF had the lead with 1:52 left in the first before Frazee and Michaela Cloonan had two layups to tie the game 18-18 at the end of the first.
  • Alexis Frazee shot 100% overall in the first, leading the Arrows with 7 points.
SECOND QUARTER
  • The Arrows had a hard defensive press in the second, holding the Oilers to shoot just 21.4% (3-14) from the field compared to their own 72.7% (8-11).
  • Riley Stopp shot 100%, going 4-4 from the field and 2-2 from the free throw line.
  • After trading leads six times, Ursuline went on a 7 point unanswered scoring run to close out the half leading 38-30.
THIRD QUARTER
  • Findlay came out firing after the break, hitting three shots in a row to gain momentum.
  • UF saw 8 points off UC turnovers this half, scoring 6 fast break points to put the Arrows on the defensive.
  • The Oilers took the lead at the 3:38 mark before the Arrows regained control on two three point shots from Michaela.
  • Findlay outscored the Arrows 21-15 this quarter and while the Ursuline narrowly held a 53-51 lead going into the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER
  • After holding their lead for the first 5 minutes of play, Findlay went on a seven point scoring run to gain the lead.
  • The Oilers held the Arrows to shoot just 28.6% from the field but UC's 50% 3PT percentage kept them in the game.
  • Three sets of free throws helped put the Arrows just three points behind the Oilers.
  • With 10 seconds left on the clock, Stottsberry lined Michaela Cloonan up for a shot behind the arc to tie the game.
  • This shot sent the game into overtime at 68-68.
OVERTIME
  • The Oilers opened up with a quick layup but Stottsberry quickly answered a three point shot.
  • UF had a quick four point run to put them at an advantage before Stottsberry drained yet another three.
  • With 13 seconds left, Michaela missed a three point shot to tie it.
  • Stottsberry fouled to drive her out of the game before Michaela added in the Arrows final two points.
  • Despite the added points, the Arrows fell to free throws from the Oilers.
  • UC was handed their first loss of the season, 82-78.

  • FG PERCENTAGE: Arrows 50.9% (29-57), Oilers 42.9% (27-63).
  • 3-PT PERCENTAGE: Arrows 50% (12-24), Oilers 52.6% (10-19).
  • FREE THROW PERCENTAGE: Arrows 80% (8-10), Oilers 72% (18-25)
  • REBOUNDS: Arrows 33 (3 offensive), Oilers 36 (10 offensive).
  • ASSISTS/TURNOVERS: Arrows 16/20, Oilers 20/16.
  • Michaela Cloonan hit her 1,000th career point with her 25-point game. She led the Arrows in both points and rebounds (7 total).
  • Alexis Frazee posted up 16 points followed by Madyson Stottsberry's 15.
  • Riley Stopp added in 12 points and 4 rebounds followed Madison Cloonan's 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
UP NEXT 
  • The Arrows will have a week before their next game versus out of conference opponent.
  • They will travel to play Fairmont State University on Saturday, December 16th at 2:00 PM.
