UC Takes Down Cardinals to Remain Undefeated at Home

SCORE: Arrows 68 – Cardinals 59

FIRST QUARTER
  • The Arrows opened up the game with a three pointer from Michaela after two strong offensive rebounds from Riley Stopp.
  • Directly after, the Cardinals found the Arrows on their heels and went on a 12-point scoring run where the Arrows were unable to hold onto the ball.
  • UC hung in the game but with seven turnovers in the first, Ursuline shot just 35.7% compared to Wheeling's 58.3%
  • UC trailed 14-19 at the end of the first.
SECOND QUARTER
  • The Arrows bounced back quickly in the second, and tied the game 24-24 at the 6:39 mark.
  • Wheeling again regained the lead on a quick five point run before Frazee and Randall hit back-to-back three pointers to take the 33-31 lead.
  • A set of free throws from Madison Cloonan set the Arrows up for their 35-31 lead at the break.
  • Emma Randall shot 80% (4-5) from the field and 75% (3-4) from the arc in the first half, leading the Arrows with 11 points.
THIRD QUARTER
  • Ursuline came out of the break playing strong defense, forcing 4 critical turnovers that allowed the Arrows to score 8 points.
  • Reaching their largest lead of 12 this quarter in the final 26 seconds, UC narrowly outscored WU 16-11 to hold onto their lead.
  • Leah Mercer had six points for UC this quarter, shooting 100% overall.
FOURTH QUARTER
  • Wheeling snuck up on the Arrows with a 10-point unanswered run starting with a pair of free throws at the 7:58 mark.
  • UC and WU went back and forth trading shots in the final five of play but Wheeling was unable to close the gap.
  • Despite Wheeling outscoring the Arrows 15-12 this quarter, Ursuline held onto their lead to secure the win.

  • FG PERCENTAGE: Arrows 40.4% (23-57), Cardinals 37.9% (22-58).
  • 3-PT PERCENTAGE: Arrows 36.7% (11-30), Cardinals 45% (9-20).
  • FREE THROW PERCENTAGE: Arrows 84.6% (11-13), Cardinals 50% (6-12)
  • REBOUNDS: Arrows 46 (14 offensive), Cardinals 27 (7 offensive).
  • ASSISTS/TURNOVERS: Arrows 16/20, Cardinals 12/14.
  • The Arrows remain undefeated at home at 4-0 and 9-2 overall.
  • Alexis Frazee led Ursuline with 15 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds.
  • Emma Randall had a career high of 14 points and shot 71.4% (5-7) from the field and 66% (4-6) from the arc.
  • Riley Stopp had 12 rebounds in addition to her 8 points and 3 assists.
  • Madison Cloonan had a well-rounded game with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
