Danielle L'Argent Named New Head Softball Coach

The Ursuline College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Danielle L'Argent as the next head softball coach.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Danielle to the Ursuline College Athletic Department", said Director of Athletics Cindy McKnight. "Her familiarity with the G-MAC and commitment to leading young women made her an excellent choice to be our next softball coach," added McKnight.

L'Argent joined the staff at the University of Akron as an assistant coach in September of 2021 and then served as a Co-Acting Head Coach for the Zips during the 2022 season.

"I am beyond excited to return to the G-MAC as the head coach at Ursuline. This opportunity would not be possible without the love and support of my family, friends, and mentors through every step of this journey," said L'Argent.

She is very familiar with the Great Midwest Athletic Conference after spending three years as an Assistant Coach at Hillsdale College. During that time, the Chargers won the G-MAC Tournament Championship in 2019 and made two NCAA Regional appearances.

"I would like to thank Cindy McKnight for entrusting me to lead the young women in our program, and I am so thankful God has led me to such a great institution with a great group of people," added L'Argent.
As a player, L'Argent excelled at Chardon State College in Nebraska as an infielder. Prior to Chardon State, she played at Fresno City College in Fresno, California.

She earned her bachelor's degree in Sport and Recreational Management with an Exercise Science Concentration from Chardon State and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education from Concordia University-Portland.

The Arrows finished last season 14-25 overall and went 11-11 in the G-MAC while qualifying for the conference tournament.
