The Ursuline College lacrosse team dropped a 8-17 home game to Ashland University on Friday morning in a GMAC conference match-up with the Eagles. This marked the Arrows highest scoring game of the season.

The Arrows got the first goal of the game off of a free position shot from
Jillian Guiles. Both teams held strong defensively for the next five minutes of play, until the Eagles added in a goal of their own to tie the game. They followed up with two more goals to bring the score to 1-3 before
Paige Jankowski scored in the final 15 seconds of the first quarter.

The Eagles opened up the second quarter with a free position goal and Ursuline's
Priscilla Richardson answered right away with a one of her own to make the score 3-4. The Eagles went on an unanswered seven goal streak to end the first half.

The Arrows came out of the half rejuvenated and had a strong third quarter winning five of the seven draw controls and tying the Eagles on shots with 6-6 and goals with 3-3. The first of these goals for the Arrows came from
Jillian Guiles and her teammates followed suit after the Eagles put in two goals of their own. Richardson shot and scored her second goal of the game and
Mary Morgan added in her first goal of the season shortly after to make the score 6-14 before the fourth quarter.

Guiles opened up the final quarter with a goal to complete her hat trick performance off a pass from Jankowski. Ashland rebutted with three goals before Jankowski snuck in the final goal of the game on a free position attempt in the last seconds of play. The Arrows fell 8-17.

Ashland outshot Ursuline 39-19 with 30-13 shots on goal and edged the Arrows in groundballs 13-8. The Arrows had 19 turnovers and forced five.
Madison Kettlewood had a strong day in goal with a .433 save percentage and 13 saves.

Ursuline remains at home for their next competition on Tuesday, April 19
th where they will take on the Tiffin University Dragons.
