The Ursuline College basketball team traveled to Nashville, TN this weekend to compete in their final two games of the regular season. On Thursday, the Arrows took on Trevecca Nazarene University and defeated them 92-74. On Saturday afternoon, Kentucky Wesleyan University took down the Arrows in a hard fought game, 44-53.

Thursday, February 24

The Arrows started off the game gaining a ten point lead in the first five minutes of play against the Trojans, kick-starting their strong shooting game. Sophomore
Emma Pospisil had 11 points in the first quarter alone, pushing the Arrows to lead 26-17 at the end of the first quarter.

Ursuline only built from there, going on an 11 point unanswered run to open the second quarter. The Arrows hit 71 percent of their three point shots this quarter, making five total. Ursuline lead 51-30 at the break.

Trevecca picked up their game in the second half, outscoring the Arrows 44-41. However, it wasn't enough to break close the gap the Arrows had forged in the first half. Ursuline won the game by 18 points, 92-74.

Evans and Pospisil both had career high performances. Alyssa leading the Arrows with her 27 points and Emma following up with 19 points. Three other Arrows scored in the double digits including Green's 17 points and 8 rebounds,
Michaela Cloonan's 13 points and 8 rebounds and
Patience Ashaolu's double digit performance of 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Arrows shot 55 percent from the field (35-of-64) and 57 percent (16-of-28) from the three point line compared to Trevecca's 48 percent and 8-of-28. Ursuline won the rebounding battle 37-25.

Saturday, February 26

Ursuline showed up ready to play on Saturday afternoon and opened up with a strong first half. UC had three steals, scoring four points off turnovers alone. Back to back three-pointers from Bekah Green and
Emma Pospisil in the final minute of the quarter helped the Arrows to a 15-12 lead going into the second.

Back and forth action in the second had both teams trading leads. The Arrows defense held strong this quarter, holding the Panthers scoreless in the final five minutes of the first half. Ursuline lead 25-24 at the break.

The Arrows lost steam at the half, unable to score a basket in the third quarter. This allowed the Panthers to create a 16 point lead going into the final quarter. Despite the Arrows fight, outscoring the Panthers 19-12 in the fourth quarter, they were unable to come back fully from their third quarter deficit. Ursuline fell 53-44.

Bekah Green's double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds led the team in her final game of the season.
Alyssa Evans added in 14 points while
Michaela Cloonan had 7 points and 9 rebounds.

Ursuline finished their season unable to clinch a spot in the GMAC Conference Championship. They ended their season 11-15 overall and 8-13 in conference play.
