The Ursuline College basketball team dropped an 82-59 road decision to Malone University on Saturday afternoon in Canton, Ohio.

The first quarter started with back and forth action until Malone took a six point unanswered run to finish the first. The Arrows shot just 8-of-23 in the opening quarter while the Pioneers were 8-of-13 from the field and 3-for-5 from behind the arc.

The Arrows heated up their shooting in the second quarter and brought Malone's lead down to just three points with 2:36 left. The Pioneers pushed forward and outscored the Arrows 9-3 in the final two minutes of play, distancing themselves at 42-30 at the break.

Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field in third, making for a high scoring quarter. Malone outscored Ursuline 21-17 and held a 63-47 lead going into the final quarter.
The Arrows weren't able to push through to close the gap in the fourth quarter. The Pioneers ended the game winning by 23 points, moving the Arrows to 5-7 in the conference.

Ursuline shot 19-of-56 (34 percent) from the field and went 7-for-22 from the three-point line while Malone shot 33-of-57 (58 percent) from the floor and 13-of-26 from behind-the-arc. Malone won the rebounding game 32-20 and had 12 turnovers compared to UC's 14.

The Arrows were led by
Madison Cloonan who finished with 20 points and eight rebounds while
Michaela Cloonan added 19 points and four assists.Â

Ursuline will travel to Tiffin University on Wednesday to take on the Dragons at 5:30 PM.
