Box Score 4 The Arrows went 1-3 this weekend at the Tony Banner Memorial Classic in Clarion, PA. Junior Outside,
Devin Gerth, and Freshman Middle,
Maleah Gibbons, were named All-Tournament Team. Gerth had 65 kills and 54 digs while Gibbons had 50 kills and 13 total blocks for the weekend.

Ursuline had a strong showing in their first game of the year against the University of New Haven. After losing the first two sets 21-25 and 20-25, the Arrows fought back in the third and fourth set, winning 26-24 and 25-21. The fifth set was neck and neck, resulting in a loss of 15-13. Senior
Sarah Miozzi set her career high in assists with 52 while
Devin Gerth led the offense with 24 kills, her career high and second highest kills in Ursuline history. Senior Libero,
Leah LaPinta, also reached her career high of 32 digs.

After a hard fought match against UNH, UC won the first set against Saginaw Valley State 25-23. They fell the next three sets 23-25, 20-25 and 13-25. Senior Setter,
Sarah Miozzi, had 33 assists while freshman
Maleah Gibbons had a strong presence at the net recording 12 kills.

On day two, Ursuline faced Adelphi University where they lost the first two sets 19-25 each. The Arrows fought back in the third and fourth sets, winning 25-22 and 25-21. They lost the set on a three point run from Adelphi.
Nora Clink recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 18 digs, while senior
Jami Turay had 12 kills hitting a .320.

The Arrows clenched their first win of the season in their final game against Shippensburg University in three sets, 25-20, 25-22 and 25-12. The Arrows offense was strong across the front with
Maleah Gibbons leading the team in hitting percentage at .556 with zero errors. LaPinta recorded 33 digs, breaking her new career high in just three sets.Â

The Arrows travel to Fairbanks, Alaska for their next pre-season tournament where they will face the University of Alaska Anchorage, Drury University, Colorado State University Pueblo and the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
