The Ursuline College volleyball team won in five sets against Lake Erie on Tuesday evening in their 5th conference match up.
The Storm came out strong seeking their first conference win of the season, taking down UC in the first set 20-25. The Arrows bounced back in the second and third set, defeating Lake Erie 25-16 and 25-20. Ursuline trailed Lake Erie most of the fourth set and fell 23-25, sending the game into the fifth set. With a strong lead off the start, the Arrows took down the Storm 15-13.
Freshman,
Jamie Villwock had record breaking numbers in the five set match with 7 total blocks and 13 kills. This has her tied for first in program history for total blocks in a five set match and placed third in the conference for total blocks in a single game. Other offensive leaders included
Nora Clink with 14 kills and 14 digs as well as
Devin Gerth with 13 kills and a career high of 22 digs.
While
Sarah Miozzi offensively had 41 assists, her defensive game helped set her career high of 23 digs.
Leah LaPinta also led the Arrows defensively with 26 total digs.
Ursuline hosts their next match ups this weekend against Findlay and Hillsdale on October 1st and 2nd.
