The Arrows hosted Cedarville University today where they dropped a tough overtime loss 0-1 to the Yellow Jackets.
In the first half, Ursuline had four shots compared to Cedarville's ten. Cedarville used the sidelines to their advantage to push the ball down the field. The Arrows defense held strong, keeping the Yellow Jackets scoreless in the first half of play.
In the second half, Cedarville controlled the pace of the game, seventeen shots to four. The end of regulation was approaching with 20 seconds left on the clock and the Arrows had one last shot to end the match. Fallon Joyce lined up the corner kick and the ball soared through the air as Addison Holt made contact but just missed the top right of the goal. This ended regulation play for the Great Midwest match-up and sent us into overtime.
Ten minutes were added to the game clock and the Arrows were ready to close out the game. Cedarville controlled the ball down the field where they met a relentless Ursuline defense. One shot was blocked but the other, unfortunately, found the back of the net. The Yellow Jackets came out on top in sudden death fashion.
