Box Score 4 The Arrows traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska this past weekend to compete in the Nanook Classic. The team faced four high level programs and showed improvement throughout the weekend despite going 0-4.

Their first match up was against the University of Alaska Anchorage on Thursday evening. After losing the first set 12-25, UC battled back in the second set with a total team hitting percentage of .417. Despite the turnaround, they lost the second set 22-25 followed by a 10-25 loss in the third.

On day two of the Nanook Classic, Ursuline went down in three to Drury University, 16-25, 9-25 and 19-25. Their second match of the day proved to be much more competitive against CSU Pueblo.
Sarah Miozzi led the team with a double-double of 25 assists and 12 digs while fellow Senior,
Jami Turay, hit a .444 in the three-set match. The Arrows lost 18-25, 17-25 and 22-25.

Their final game against University of Alaska Fairbanks was a competitive match up. The Nanooks came out strong in the first two sets, winning 19-25, 21-25. Ursuline fought back in the third set, winning 25-21, but fell short in the fourth set losing 17-25. The Arrows were big at the net and relentless in the back row with 8 total blocks and 59 total digs.

Ursuline will face their first conference opponents on the road next weekend. Tiffin University on Friday, September 17
th at 7:00 pm followed by new conference addition, Ashland University, on Saturday, September 18
th at 2:00 pm.
