The Ursuline College lacrosse team battled the first-place Walsh Cavaliers in a 22-12 defeat on Tuesday afternoon in Pepper Pike.
The Arrows fell behind 2-0 before
Allie Marks connected on her first goal of the game to make it 2-1 with 26:13 to play in the first half. The Cavaliers scored the next seven unanswered goals to build a 9-1 lead before
Jaclyn Gilmore scored a man-up goal off a pass from
Michaela Riley to make it 9-2.

The assist for Riley made her the all-time career leader in assists with 57. She would add two more later in the game to give her a career total of 59.

Walsh built an 11-4 advantage at the half before Ursuline started to climb its way back into the game. Marks scored again at the 27:27 mark of the second half to make it 13-5 and
Grace London scored a goal with an advantage to make it 14-6. Gilmore and London added back-to-back goals to make it 16-8 with 14:00 minutes to play.

Marks scored goals on each of her five shots in the game to lead Ursuline offensively. Gilmore added a pair of goals on two shots and London had two goals on five shots. Riley,
Emily Polivick and
Jillian Guiles each scored for Ursuline.

Walsh outshot Ursuline 40-25 in the game and held a 24-16 advantage in groundballs. Ursuline won 18 draw controls compared to 17 for Walsh.

Emily Hall made 10 saves for the Arrows.

Ursuline and Walsh will meet again on Friday, this time in North Canton with the match slated to begin at 7:00pm.
