The Ursuline College volleyball team earned its way back to the postseason with a 3-1 victory over Malone on Saturday to close the regular season.
Ursuline won a closely contested first set 25-21 before winning the second set 25-18. In the first two sets, the Arrows combined for 30 kills and just eight errors. The .333 hitting percentage in the first set was the second highest in a set this season.
Malone kept the match alive with a 25-22 win in the third set in which Ursuline committed six errors.
The Arrows closed out the match with a 25-18 win in the final set to clinch the final playoff spot in the Great Midwest Tournament.
Freshman
Abigail Aguilera-Ayala finished with 15 kills while senior
Krisandra Mezera had 13 and junior
Nora Clink added 10.
Sarah Miozzi had a season-high 48 assists while
Zoe Skinner added 25 digs.
Ursuline will travel to Hillsdale for the first round of the Great Midwest Tournament on Tuesday when they take on the number one seeded Hillsdale Chargers at 7:00 PM.
