Box Score 2 The Ursuline College volleyball team fell to both Walsh University and Malone University this weekend.
Friday night's game versus Walsh started with a hard fought set. The Arrows and Cavaliers battled past the 25th point until Walsh eventually came out with the 36-34 win. The Arrows found it difficult to bounce back in the second and third set, losing 25-9 and 25-14. Seniors
Leah LaPinta and
Nora Clink led the backrow in digs with 17 and 14 digs each while
Devin Gerth and
Abigail Aguilera-Ayala led the team offensively with 12 and 8 kills.Â
The Arrows stepped up on Saturday looking for a win versus Malone and won the first set 25-23. The Pioneers took the second set despite the Arrows 18-12 lead and continued to put pressure on Ursuline, winning the third and fourth set 25-16 and 25-18. Gerth and Clink both recorded double doubles, Devin with 24 kills and 10 digs and Nora with 11 kills and 24 digs.Â
Senior Setter,
Sarah Miozzi, reached her 1,000 career assist with her 63 assists on the weekend. After just two years with the Arrows, this makes her the sixth athlete in program history to reach this milestone.Â
Ursuline will close out their season next weekend on the road versus the University of Findlay and Hillsdale College on Friday, November 12th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 13th at 5:00 pm.
