The Ursuline College basketball team scored 88 points as they defeated Lake Superior State University 88-62 on the road on Sunday afternoon..

Both teams showed up to fight in the first quarter with game leads changing twice within the first five minutes of play. The Arrows had a 6 point run at the 4:52 mark that kick started the lead they held onto for the remainder of the game. Although the Lakers came out strong behind the arc with a shooting percentage of 50% (3-of-6), Ursuline finished the quarter leading 24-18 making 61% (11-of-18) of their field goal attempts.Â
The Arrows took their lead to the double digits within the first three minutes of the second quarter off of a set of free throws and a layup by Bekah Green. Ursuline's defense remained strong and their offense ran with the game. UC led 42-30Â heading into to the second half.

Ursuline held onto their lead in the third and fourth quarter, outshooting the Lakers by a 46-32 margin. Lake Superior brought the lead down to a 14 point gap in the fourth quarter after a set of layups but the Arrows responded with an eight point run, bringing the score to 73-51. UC's defense held the Lakers to a 26 point deficit to finish the game 88-62.

Ursuline shot 49% (30-of-61) from the field in the game and went 12-of-26 from the three-point line while Lake Superior finished at 41% (23-of-56) from the field and 7-of-25 from three. The Arrows had 21 assists and won the rebounding battle 31-29.

The Arrows were led by Bekah Green and
Alyssa Evans who both hit their career-highs in total points. Green had 27 points on 9-of-15 shots from the field while Evans had 25 points on 10-of-17. Sophomore
Michaela Cloonan finished with 14 points, 8 assists and 10 rebounds while
Patience Ashaolu added 13 points and 4 rebounds andÂ
Madison Cloonan had 9 points and 14 rebounds.
