The Ursuline College Soccer Team fell to Malone University 2-0 after the game was delayed due to tornado warnings on Thursday evening. Despite the weather clearing up, the Arrows fought heavy wind throughout the duration of the game.
The Arrows controlled the first half offensively with 12 shots on goal compared to the Pioneer's 3. Despite their efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net by the end of the first 45 minutes.
Malone fought back in the second half and score their first goal in the 56th minute of play. Minutes later, an indirect free kick was given to the Pioneers in front of the Arrows goal, resulting in their second goal of the game.
The Arrows continued to fight. A hopeful shot by Strizzi in the final five minutes of play hit the post but did not enter the goal. A minute later, Ehrbar also had a shot at goal but the Pioneer's goalkeeper was able to hold Ursuline to a score of 2-0.Â
Ursuline returns home for their next conference match up against Walsh on Saturday, October 23rd at 1:00 pm.
