On a cold and windy day in Northeast Ohio, the Arrows defeated the Cavaliers 3-1 in a Great Midwest matchup.
At the 7:25 mark, the Walsh goalkeeper crept out of the box to send a ball that was sent back by a defender. Nicola Ehrbar stepped up and not only blocked the kick but chipped it over the keepers head to make the score 1-0 early on.
The Arrows continued to pressure the Walsh defenders. At 18:52, Megan Couthino crossed the ball between two defenders to find the foot of Hannah Pickens. Pickens shot and scored, making the score 2-0. The Cavaliers made one last push to score before the half and at 44:05 Walsh found the back of the net.
At 78:53 in the second half, Nicola Ehrbar sent the ball from the corner to find Kristina Spitzer and a wide-open net. With the easy tap in goal, Ursuline then led Walsh 3-1.
The Arrows recorded 20 shots compared to the Cavaliers 17, with 11-10 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Allison Mysliwiec made 9 saves in the afternoon match up.
Ursuline travels to Tiffin, OH to take on the Dragons on October 28th at 3:30pm.
