Game Recap: Volleyball |

Volleyball Has Successful Midwest Region Crossover

Volleyball went 2-1 at the Midwest Region Crossover this weekend, a great showing alongside the rest of the GMAC against the GLIAC and GLVC conferences.

The Arrows swept William Jewell on Friday afternoon in three sets. Senior Libero, Leah LaPinta, reached her 1,000th career dig from her 21 dig showing. Offensively, Jami Turay hit a .650 with zero errors in the three set match. Outside Hitters, Clink and Aguilera-Ayala, both posted up double-doubles while Senior Setter, Sarah Miozzi averaged 13 assists per set.

Ursuline got off to a great start on Saturday morning with a five set battle against Southwest Baptist. The Arrows won in the fifth set 18-16. Two Arrows set career highs in this match, Sophomore Abigail Aguilera-Ayala with 16 kills and Freshman Emily Holton with 14 digs. UC had 62 kills and 66 digs as a team.

The third game of the weekend versus Northern Michigan challenged the Arrows after their two successful wins. Ursuline fell in three sets but saw success from Senior Setter, Regan Nickol reaching her 1,000th career assist.

Ursuline returns home for a mid-week match up versus Central State on Tuesday, October 19th at 6:00 pm. The Arrows have dedicated this their "Dig Pink" game to raise money for the Beachwood Breast Cancer Center.
