The Ursuline College basketball team scored a season-high 91 points as they defeated Ohio Valley 91-78 on the road on Monday evening.

The Fighting Scots got out to a hot start from behind the three-point line in the first quarter by connecting on eight of their first 11 attempts from deep. They took an 18-12 advantage at the 4:55 mark after a three-pointer from Nahia Urturi-Ortiz. Ursuline responded and cut the deficit down to a basket at 21-19 on a three-pointer from sophomore
Alyssa Evans.

Ohio Valley held a 32-26 lead after the first quarter.

The Ursuline defense tightened up in the second quarter and held Ohio Valley to just 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting while putting up 22 points of their own on 7-of-17 from the floor to take a 48-42 lead into the third quarter.

The two teams traded baskets in the early moments of the third quarter before a jumper from sophomore
Tamara Mathis made it 54-58 with 7:26 to play in the period. Evans connected on another three-pointer to make it 57-48 and give the Arrows their biggest lead at the time. Sophomore
Aubrie Marsh put in back-to-back baskets midway through the quarter to push the lead to 63-50 with under four minutes to play.

Ursuline led 69-62 headed to the final quarter.

With 5:56 remaining in the game, Ohio Valley pulled to within a point at 74-73 before Evans connected again from deep to make it 78-73 with five minutes to play. Ohio Valley got within a basket at the four-minute mark of the fourth quarter before senior
Katrina Scheuvront scored to help seal the game for the Arrows.

Ursuline shot 46 percent (33-of-71) from the field in the game and went 12-of-31 from the three-point line while Ohio Valley finished at 44 percent (31-of-70) from the field and 12-of-36 from three. The Arrows had a season-high 24 assists on their 31 made field goals and won the rebounding battle 33-22.

The Arrows were led by Evans who had 18 points on a career-high six three pointers in 31 minutes of play. Junior Bekah Green finished with 14 points and dished out four assists while freshman
Madison Cloonan added 13 points and 10 rebounds and senior
Morgan Mattimore had 13 points and a career-best 11 rebounds.

Ursuline will travel to Walsh University on Thursday, January 21 for a 5:30 PM tip off. The Cavaliers won the previous meeting to begin the season back in December. There will be no visiting fans allowed for the game on Thursday.
