The Ursuline College soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision to visiting Clarion in its season opener on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Golden Eagles scored the game's only goal off a corner kick in the 21^st minute when Leann Wynder finished a pass from Dani McNally to make it 1-0.
 
The Arrows had several chances to even the score but could not get a shot by Clarion goalkeeper Brigid Stermel who made six saves.
 
Ursuline outshot Clarion 20-7 on the afternoon while the Golden Eagles attempted four corner kicks to the Arrows three.
 
The Arrows will play one more non-conference match on Tuesday, September 10 when they travel to West Liberty.
