The Ursuline College volleyball team dropped its season opener in three sets on the road against Daemen College on Friday evening.

The Arrows trailed early in the first set 4-1 before cutting the deficit to 4-3 but the Wildcats answered with four unanswered points of their own to build an 8-3 lead.

Ursuline dropped the first set 25-18 and fell in the second set 25-16. The host Daemen took the final set 25-14 to win the match in straight sets.

Senior
Vikki Henderson led the Arrows with eight kills while fellow senior Angie Zamora finished with three kills and junior
Krisandra Mezera had three kills in her only set of the evening.

Sophomore
Regan Nickol had 18 assists while freshman
Devin Gerth led the team in digs with seven. Henderson added six digs as did sophomore
Leah LaPinta.

The Arrows will play a pair of matches on Saturday on day two of the Wildcat Invitational. Ursuline will take on Mercyhurst at 11:00 AM and finish the day with a match against Urbana at 3:00 PM.
