The Ursuline College lacrosse team defeated Notre Dame College 17-12 on the road on Wednesday afternoon in South Euclid.

With the game tied 1-1, junior
Michaela Riley and sophomore
Jaclyn Gilmore scored back-to-back goals to give Ursuline a 3-1 lead.

Riley added two more scores at the 17:55 mark and 15:40 of the first half to push the Ursuline lead out to 5-2 midway through the first half.

After Notre Dame College rallied to tie the game 5-5, senior
Abigail Neeley put Ursuline back in front with her first goal of the game at the 10:51 mark of the first half to make it 6-5. Gilmore added her second score to make it 7-5 with under 10:00 to play.

Ursuline went on to score the next five goals in total and led 10-5 late in the half. The Falcons cut the deficit to 11-7 at the break.

The Arrows outshot the Falcons 32-30 and 24-18 in shots on goal while Notre Dame held a 17-13 edge on draw controls. Ursuline picked up 23 groundballs compared to 13 for Notre Dame.

Riley finished with a team-high nine points after scoring four goals and dishing out five assists while also picking up four groundballs. Neeley scored five goals and had one assist while Gilmore finished with three scores.
Julia Zackey added two goals on four shots.

Emma Barnes picked up a team-high seven groundballs.

Ursuline will travel to Findlay on Friday when they will take on Colorado Mesa in a non-conference game.
