Arrows Set to Open Conference Play at Home on Thursday



The Ursuline College basketball team opens the 2019-20 Great Midwest slate on Thursday evening at 6:30 against Malone.
 
THE TEAMS
 
Ursuline is coming off a 68-63 road victory over Mercyhurst prior to the Thanksgiving break last Wednesday.
 
The Arrows had three players in double-figures led by senior Ky Crevison who finished with 19 points in 33 minutes. The senior guard went 7-of-11 from the field and was 3-of-4 from behind the three-point line.
 
Freshman Tamara Mathis finished with 17 points while sophomore Bekah Green added 13 points.
 
Malone has won two-straight games after defeating Carlow 80-67 on November 23 and besting Clarion 69-48 on November 27.
 
The Pioneers are paced by last year's G-MAC Freshmen of the Year Robin Campbell who is averaging 16.4 points per game through the first seven games of the season.
 
THE SERIES

Series History

The Pioneers have won nine of the 11 meetings between the two teams including four of the last five. The Arrows won 64-42 in Pepper Pike last season. The 42 points allowed were the fewest allowed last season by Ursuline and the second fewest allowed in program history.
 
The two teams met in the 2016 Great Midwest Championship game that Malone won 72-64 before both teams advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
