The Ursuline College basketball team trailed by four points with under a minute remaining in a 66-58 loss to conference leading Cedarville on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets started the game on a 7-0 run that forced an early timeout for the Arrows. Following the time out, Ursuline went on a 6-0 run of its own to cut the lead to 7-6 with under five minutes left in the opening quarter.

Freshman
Kaylin Burdick buried a three-pointer from the top of the key to give Ursuline its first lead of the game at 9-7. Cedarville held a 19-14 lead after the first quarter.

The defenses took over in the second quarter as Cedarville shot just 5-of-15 from the floor while the Arrows were 6-of-19 and outscored the Yellow Jackets 14-12 in the frame.

Ursuline trailed 31-28 at the intermission.

The Arrows got a jumper from freshman
Bekah Green to start the fourth quarter to pull within two at 48-46 and took the lead on a three-pointer from junior
Ky Crevison at 49-48.

Cedarville built the lead back up to six at 58-52 before junior
Julia Cardwell buried a three-pointer to make it 58-55 with 1:39 to play in the game.

The Yellow Jackets went 4-for-4 down the stretch and 13-of-14 in the game from the free throw line to help seal the win.

Ursuline shot 19-of-61 (31 percent) from the field in the game while Cedarville was 23-of-62 (37 percent). The Arrows and Yellow Jackets both were 7-of-28 from the three-point line and Ursuline forced 12 Cedarville turnovers on the afternoon. The Yellow Jackets won the rebounding battle 41-35.

The Arrows were paced by Cardwell's 19 points on 6-of-14 from the floor while senior
Paige Salisbury added 12 points and seven rebounds. Crevison finished with seven points and Burdick with six.

Ursuline will host Walsh University on Thursday evening at 5:30 PM. The Cavaliers are currently a half game behind Cedarville for the league lead.
