The Ursuline College volleyball team picked up a come-from-behind road victory over Davis & Elkins College on Saturday afternoon in Elkins, West Virginia.
Ursuline held a 23-20 advantage in the first set, before Davis & Elkins scored the next five points to take the opening set 27-25. The Senators used the momentum from the first set to decisively take the second set 25-17 and put Ursuline in a 0-2 hole in the match.
The Arrows responded with a 25-21 win in the third set and a convincing 25-17 win in the fourth set to force a fifth and deciding set.
Ursuline jumped out to a quick 7-3 advantage in the fifth set and did not look back. The Senators closed to within three at 9-6 before the Arrows won the final and deciding set 15-6 to pick up their second-straight road win, and fourth win overall.
Junior
Vikki Henderson matched her career-best for the second time this season with 21 kills while freshman
Nora Clink added eight and junior Angie Zamora finished with seven. Freshman
Leah LaPinta had four service aces while junior
Kylie Krnac, Clink and Zamora each had two blocks for the Arrows.
Sophomore
Zoe Skinner finished with 21 digs while LaPinta added 20 and junior
Kassidy Stilwell finished with 16.
Ursuline will host first-place Tiffin University on Friday night at 7:30 PM.
