The Ursuline College volleyball team opens the 2018 season at home on Friday afternoon when they will host crosstown rival Notre Dame College in a 2pm match.

The Arrows and Falcons met in a five-set thriller last September with Notre Dame edging Ursuline 3-2. In the match, junior
Vikki Henderson had team best 18 kills while junior Angie Zamora had 11 kills.

Ursuline won the opening set 25-22 before dropping the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-18. The Arrows rallied to win the fourth set 25-23 before falling 15-13 in the fifth set.

The Arrows lead the all-time series between the two schools 5-4 with the last Ursuline victory coming in 2015 in South Euclid, also in five sets.

Ursuline returns eight players that saw action in 2017 while Notre Dame enters the 2018 season without a senior on its roster. They return 11 players that saw action last season.

Notre Dame was picked to finish ninth in the Mountain East Conference Preseason Poll while Ursuline was picked to finish fifth in the East Division of the Great Midwest.
