The Ursuline College softball team earned a split on the road with Trevecca Nazarene University on Saturday afternoon.

With the game scoreless into the top of the third, senior
Rosie Lyard doubled to left center to give the Arrows their first scoring chance. Junior
Sadie Jones followed by reaching on a throwing error that allowed Lyard to score and make it 1-0.

Trevecca answered back with a run in the bottom of the inning to make it 1-1.

The Arrows offense broke out in the fourth inning after junior
Alison Hughes started the frame with a base it through the right side. Senior
Brigitte Snow reached on a fielder's choice and stole second base. Senior Bri Benge added another base hit and a ground out from sophomore
Brooklyn Miller to score Snow.

The offense continued its run when Lyard drove in a run with a base hit up the middle to score Benge. In total, the Arrows plated four runs in the inning and built a 5-1 lead.

In the top of the sixth, Ursuline tacked on a pair of runs on a base hit from junior
Hannah Trent to make it 7-1.

Jones earned her first win of the season with three innings of work in which she allowed one unearned run on four hits. Senior
Gina Rosshirt and Miller combined to toss four shutout innings while allowing three hits.

Ursuline will return home on Tuesday and look to make their home debut when they host Davis & Elkins College at 3:30 PM.
